• John Newdigate is one of South Africa’s best ceramists. Based in Swellendam, he takes his cue from nature for many of his offerings and this latest body of work is no exception. Inspired by the ocean…deep blue hues, fishies galore and references to phosphorescence together create a beautiful body of work…

John’s  highly collectable pieces are available at galleries like Clementina’s ART Gallery in Cape Town, Artisan Gallery in Durban and Kim Sacks Gallery in Johannesburg and you can expect to pay from around R360 plus for a bowl. And for a glimpse into a wider range of his work , be sure to visit his site (just take a deep breath if you’re a ceramics nut ‘coz it’s goooooood)

pssst….John’s works are soon to be hitting the shelves in Conran NYC and London…isn’t he the cleverest?

I’ve been collecting and using John’s ceramics for years and just love them. I think his pattern are getting better and better. I hadn’t seen the fish bowls in those top pictures – now I want them!
