Well if this applies to anyone, I would love to invite Ellen DeGeneres to tea! She wouldn’t have to dance, but if she wanted to, I would join in!

    • Carapace on May 8, 2010

I really thought I’d left my answer– oh no!
I’d invite L Frank Baum, writer of the original Oz books. By all accounts he was wonderful company, as inventive and whimsical as his writing, and just the sort of person to love a proper tea party. Especially one with lovely towels.:D

These are absolutely beautiful! I would invite my friend Allison…we used to have tea at least once a month when we lived in the same town. It was always so relaxing and comforting. Thanks so much for the giveaway!

Oh, so fun! I would like to invite President Obama over for tea. I’ve got lots of questions for him. Plus, how hysterical would it be to have the President over for tea?! :)

Well, since it is “anyone’ I would love to invite all my old college roommates, and then Tina Fey. She would just make the night. Great giveaway.

Who you would love to invite to tea and why?

I want to invite my mother to tea,
because we don’t have any servant and I hope having tea
will help her to relax after doing a lot of chores.

      Hi!

These towels are lovely, count me in :)

I’d love to have tea with Franz Kafka because of his wonderfully abstract novels. It always seems to me he was a bit off his rocker in a positive way, so he would be a very interesting perosn to talk to.
And then (what I do regularly) I would like to invite my 5 closest female friends for a girls afternoon with tea and cake and chat about all the world and his brother :)

I would love to invite my mother, sister and daughter-in-law because we have so little time together. Last week I had a luncheon that proved women still love to dress up and use linens and fine china and their very best manners.

I want to invite all my neighbors to tea and have a traditional garden tea party. My neighbours have become wonderful friends since we joined together to create a community association to protect our local environment. Plus, I love tea parties! thorandellie[at]gmail[dot]com

I would invite Julia Child to tea. She’s absolutely my hero, and I bet she’d bring some great snacks.

    • Nicki on May 11, 2010

My two small nieces who live far away – and being very messy 3 and 5 yr olds – we would each choose one of these beautiful pieces (so that no one has to clean up after us), tell one another stories, read a book or two, sip warm rooibos tea and eat a cookie and have lots of fun together!

Nataniel can be my guest anytime with his fine humour and perfect manners, his outlook in life and his amusing ways he express himself I adore him

    • leslie on May 12, 2010

I would invite my best friend, who lives across the country! WE love nothing better than a great conversation across the table from each other :)

    • Oksana on May 13, 2010

I would love invite to tea my dearest Mom and Dad, since I live separately with my family i miss them and would love to invite them almost every day!

    • Lisa on May 13, 2010

I would invite my co-workers because working the graveyard shift (10:15 p.m.-8:15 a.m.) can be challenging (not to mention LONG!), and tea (in whatever form, hot or iced) with yummy food can be a great pick-me-up!

Thanks for the cute tea towel giveaway!

    • Michelle J Flynn on May 17, 2010

I would invite Coco Chanel and my domestic helper’s grandaughter, Jordan, to tea. Coco because she is my fashion icon and Jordan because I am hers (she is very young, she doesn’t know any better :) )

    • Caroline on May 17, 2010

I would love to have my 4 best girlfriends to tea because I have not seen them all together in a long time.

    • Suze on May 19, 2010

Wow! These are soooo pretty! (I’m being very lucky with giveaways lately, so let me try here too!)

I’d invite either Tim Burton’s Alice’ Mad Hatter (that would be nice…) AND/OR, more realistically my 2 best friends: they both live in other cities now (one in Rome and one in Lisbon) and we don’t really see each other often.

(The little owl illustration is adorable!)

Ciao and thanks for the opportunity!
      Suze

Those are lovely! I would love to have Jane Goodall over for tea. I love her work with the chimps of Gombe, and her attempts to help primates worldwide!

    • Koek! on May 20, 2010

I would love to sit down and have a cuppa with Julia Child (were she still alive)… And have her tell me of her days at the famous Le Cordon Bleu cooking school (and how she knew that piece of cannelloni was ‘hotter than a stiff cock!’) I’d make her bring her own treats though, of course!

    • Koek! on May 20, 2010

PS _ Just discovered your blog via twitter, and SO GLAD I DID!

    • iwantthat on May 20, 2010

Yay, thanks for visiting! V x

    • Melissa on May 20, 2010

Oh wow, these tea towels really are gorgeous!

I’d have tea with Oprah Winfrey and Nelson Mandela. It would be great to switch it around and ask Oprah a few questions, and of course, I would love to chat to Mandela about his secrets to living a long, rich and fulfilled life. Oooo, I get excited just thinking about these two iconic and influential figures in the same room! :-)

Such a beautiful set of napery is deserving of an elegant English Rose to complement the designs which animate a perfect occasion for tea. Gwyneth Paltrow comes to mind. Earl Grey for two please, thank you.
