While i have no intention of turning this into a food blog, it’s nice to share what’s happening in the foodie world and i’ve been enjoying your feedback on the posts i’ve put up on the subject. Take Australian star chef Bill Granger’s new(ish) book Everyday Asian for example…it is BEAUTIFUL. The cleanness that is so typical of this chef is evident on every page and i love the bluey-green thread of colour that is found throughout. Personally i could eat noodles for every single meal and there are many Asian specialities i absolutely love – so this is definitely one to add to my own wishlist.Bill Granger is one of the world’s foremost fusion experts and his easy style makes you want to get chopping and sizzling and stirring.

i like how the book starts with a pantry basics crash course and that the chapters are simply organised into starters, soups and the various main ingredients from poultry to pork, including an entire chapter devoted to noodles (yum) and one for rice. There’s also loads to inspire non meat eaters.

Published by Harper Collins, it’s available to buy in South Africa on Kalahari  for R316,  here’s the direct link

PS. There is a tres cute free printable on I Want That Wedding today – you could make a poster for your wall or a V Day card

OH, I love cooking with Bill! Having friends for lunch on Thursday and the menu is straight from his ‘Basics’ book – he is my new crush! x

I fancy myself in the kitchen but am a disinterested baker, though a greedy girl of note. I was therefore more than a little thrilled last weekend when I made the Chinese custard tarts from this beautiful book.

All butter puff pastry and a few simple things and my baking was a success! My friends,a discerning lot, scoffed the lot!

I was happy to discover that the joy of looking at this book was matched by the ease of baking and the sheer deliciousness of the tarts. Highly recommended!

I’m so glad I didn’t click on the link yesterday during my afternoon energy slump or I’d have polished off the fridge’s contents… Yummy food , great images
