I had the pleasure of meeting Sebastian van Greunen and his lovely wife Sarah earlier this week and it was great to spend some time sharing notes on local designs and products that we love. Sebastian is a talented architect but he’s also the brains behind a much needed and ever growing directory of local design – from artists to web designers, product and furniture developers, ceramists, fashion talents, illustrators…you name it. It’s called Find Design and i’m sure it must already be and will continue to grow to be a much needed information source for architects, collectors, interiors specialist and people interested in South African products and design services.
Clockwise from above left, works by Loren Kaplan, Anthony Dart John Newdigate, Liam Mooney
Check out the site to see what’s happening in local design and be sure to get in touch with Sebastian if you’d like to be included.
if you’re wanting to indulge in buying up some lovely local wares, be sure to pop into Boardmans to see their Welcome Home range (am mildly obsessed with most of the products, developed by the brilliant Julian and Trevyn McGowan of Source and Southern Guild) as well as the excellent online shop and blog at Touch-It Design.
