• Hello lovelies. It’s Mandy here with a precipitation-themed post today so thanking you in advance for your indulgence, particularly if it’s been bucketing down in your area. But holy Tlaloc people (I’m a big nerd when it comes to Aztec history and right now mentioning their ancient god of rain, storms, fertility and water seems apt), this drought seems to have no end in sight and it’s awful and depressing and obviously very serious. This balmy holiday weather vibe has now crossed over to some sort of Twilight Zone territory where it feels like a zombie apocalypse is not far off. So, while the storm clouds are gathering in my heart but not the skies, I thought I’d send a little rain-inspired post out into the multiverse and hope for the best.

Isn’t this photograph by artist Michael Middleton just incredible? You can just smell the rain-soaked earth.  Rain Near Somerset East print by Michael Middleton from Hello Pretty

On a cuter but still rain-soaked note is this Singing In The Rain print from Superbalist

I’m a big fan of Hèrmes fragrances but especially their garden-inspired collection which is gorgeous (and I say this being a huge perfume snob). Un Jardin Aprés La Mousson (the garden after the monsoon) is the only one I’ve never tried but considering its promise of earth-after-the-downpour notes coupled with exotic elements, it’s on my lust list. Find it in-store at the bigger retailers (try Edgars), put in an order with a relative overseas or search for the best price online

Isn’t this Girl In The Rain pendant so sweet? It’s by jewellery artist Natasha Wood from Hello Pretty

Stormy nights (we live in hope) call for these adorable fairy lights, from Superbalist

I LOVE the old school fisherman’s vibe of this bright yellow coat. It’s from the dude’s department at Superbalist and is marked down right now, so get yourself one fast

While we’re waiting for the rain to come, why not make-believe there are stormy skies outside with this cool Cumulus wall mural wallpaper from Rebel Walls, available to order from St Leger & Viney

Love these Chelsea wellies in Sunset by Hunter Boots. Just think how cool they’d look with that nifty yellow rain coat (above)

Isn’t it the BEST THING putting on moody music while the rain falls hard outside? These artists should get you in the zone (download from iTunes or find them on Amazon)
Agnes Obel Aventine / Max Richter Sleep (but I love ALL his work) / Alice Boman What / Ólafur Arnalds For Now I Am Winter (Living Room Songs is also beautiful, and if you know the TV show Broadchurch, that’s also him)
