Good morning lovelies! I’m so thrilled to be sharing this morning’s post with you since it involves sharing beauteous finds from one of my favourite South African design e-tailers. The Hello Pretty team have been hard at work updating their site and helping to create a platform for local talents to share their wares in an easy-to-nagivate, secure shopping environment. As you know, i’m on a mission to sort my Christmas shopping way ahead of time so that i don’t sit with an empty bank account for the holidays – so far i’ve nearly sorted my step daughters, i’ve ordered gifts for Charley Bird and her cousin and i haven’t had to leave home to do any of it – i LOVE online shopping!! In the coming weeks i’ll be sharing some finds from Hello Pretty that i would love to give OR receive and hopefully you’ll like them too…take a look…
Spoil a friend with this organic-inspired, elegant charm bracelet on a silk thread by Cape Town designer Stacy Adriaans. I love the idea of mixing this brass charm with gold jewellery or a bunch of other friendship bracelets. It costs R200.
I love Mexican sugar skulls at the best of times and this lasercut wooden sugar skull caught my eye immediately – and then i spotted it’s a clock – bonus! It’s from Pringle Bay based brand Hallo Jane and its a fabulous buy for someone with quirky taste – i’d love it in my kitchen or home office! It costs R550. Click here for more information.
You all know how much i love hanging plants – which is why i think this beaded planter holder is so fabulous – plus it’s a great price! Simply pop in a cool plant and Bob’s your Christmas Uncle! It’s made by a crowd called Hobby and they make lovely brass geo airplant holders too – click here to see. R180 gets you this planter.
Isn’t this gold nugget necklace so freaking fabulous?! I absolutely love it and i want it! It’s from Haute & Tidy and they have loads of other affordable jewellery (I spotted a pineapple pendant that a tropical-obsessed friend of mine would love) too – from pendants to earrings that would go down a treat! It costs R200.
I’m a big Sugar & Vice fan – they are a design studio that produce such edgy and appealing pieces – from little snack bowls like this one to ashtrays with anchors on them (this is the Cape Sailor which is so cool). I’d team this little bowl with a box of Maldon salt for a foodie friend. It costs R140. PS. Sugar & Vice also do napkins with their designs on them.
I had to include something for a little person in today’s roundup. How cute is this turban by Thursday’s Child? OMG, i love it and it’s going straight onto my shopping list for Charley’s bestie Evie…adorable! Thursday’s Child have lovely basics too – and if you’re looking for boys’ gear – check out the Steve McQueen and James Dean tees. The turban costs R65.
Yes i know, i’m a poster freak but what’s not to love? Affordable art created by local talents – tick! This graphic print by local designers i Spy would live so happily in my home – whether in our bedroom (it’s good to have a ‘red’ corner in your bedroom for feng shui) or as part of a gallery wall. This would make a great gift for a teen too. And here’s the best part – this signed, limited edition print is on sale – marked down from R550 to R390! i Spy have LOADS of other gorgeous products – go look!
These Lego men get a huge thumbs up from me – i know The Captain would love them! They’re from Little Trading Co and they cost R120 for 5 soaps. Cute huh?
So there you have it – hope you spotted one or two things that could help in sorting out your Christmas gift giving. There are thousands more items to choose from over on Hello Pretty.
