Good morning lovelies, i hope you’re well. Can you believe that at Good Housekeeping we’re already working on our February issue? It’s crazy!! That doesn’t mean i don’t have Christmas on the brain though – i’ve now ticked all the kids in our immediate family off the list, i know what i’m getting my Mom and my sister and as usual i haven’t a clue what to buy The Captain, who is officially the hardest person on earth to buy for!! I still have loads of people to sort though and i’m sure many of you do too…so here are some ideas from Hello Pretty, South Africa’s bastion of lovely, local, handmade design.
Oh my word, can you say cute with a capital C? This is such a sweet, T shirt for a small person! It’s by Humble Pie Design and it costs R150. Click here to buy and look out for their other products – OMG, there’s a sloth!!
I’ve written about my love of crochet blankies before and i was lucky enough to receive one at Charley’s baby shower. This is a particularly pretty one and i think it would look beautiful at the end of a toddler bed or draped over the arm of a couch – if you’re into the vintage, country look, this one’s for you! Click here to buy this beauty – it costs R480.
These two gorgeous wooden items are from a new local brand called Drift and Pine. They have some great wooden products that are innovative yet so simple in their execution. I absolutely LOVE the tray and think it would be such a great buy for anyone who loves their home (love the idea of it on a coffee table crammed with candles) and isn’t the test tube shelf vase fabulous? The best news is that the tray is on special for R320 (from R400) and the bud vase is only R130 – bargain and beautiful!
These are SUCH great stocking fillers from I Do Box – they’re sold as favours for weddings but wouldn’t it be great to buy a really classic Romcom DVD for a girlfriend (or the latest season of Downton for that matter) and include one of these with it? Best of all they cost R25!!
I am such a sucker for cushions and i really have a soft spot for line drawings of cityscapes like this – combine the two and i’m sold. This is a lovely buy for someone who you know is into the whole Mono look. Its from a crowd called Aminals and it costs R160 (the cover only).
Now this is a fab gift for a tween or whimsical teen – it’s a diary smash book that’s been started already, including pretty paper and ribbons and stuff. it costs R120 and i think it’s a fab gift for a girl! Click here to buy. Living Life Creatively has lots of other beautiful journals like to look at.
I couldnt’ resist another cushion!! So you know someone who wants a pug? Well, the next thing to a snorting, goggly eyed, living breathing one is of course a soft and cushiony one!! This fella from Menagerie costs R290 and is a winner! Buy him here.
