I had a lovely mail from Frances White the other day telling me all about her recent Colab project with Mr Price Home. You may remember seeing Frances’s beautiful wares at the Design Indaba Expo last year – her textiles were literally molten hot off the presses and i know a lot of editors and writers picked up on her whimsical illustrative work for their blogs and magazines.
For her Collab collection, Frances has created a South African flavoured pretty range in candy colours with a woodland feel and then she’s mixed up the motifs and played with dirtier colours – i love them both
This is what she has to say about things
The range is inspired by South African flora and fauna, flower-filled spring landscapes, the West Coast, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and small South African mammals and birds (Cape foxes, Southern African hedgehogs, meerkats, Cape hares, elephant shrews, rock thrushs and Cape White-eyes.) The product range comprises of a reversible South African Meadow duvet set, a woven throw, a woven rug, various cushions and embroidered towels.
The rug in the top right corner of this collage is calling my name!
Frances, i think your work is fabulous and well done Mr Price Home for giving this emerging designer a platform so more people can enjoy and appreciate her work!
