• So, i’ve mentioned on the blog that i had some changes planned for Charley’s room and while they’re not major changes, i’m hoping they’ll make her room look a little more toddler friendly and a little softer. To do that, i needed to bring in some soft edges and since curtain, blinds and window finishing experts Decorland contacted me recently asking if we could work together, it made sense to do so in the form of curtaining. It was a BIG step for me since (confession) we don’t have ONE curtain in our home. We have shutters on all our windows so that we could maximise the view but for Charley’s space i really wanted a more toddler-friendly feel. I spent last week painting up some of the goodies i earmarked off the Decorland website – having never gone through the process of ordering curtains before, i’m surprised at how easy the process was. I pinpointed what i wanted and went to my closest Game to order the products, easy peasy putstix.

So…here is how her room currently looks

    What needs to go:

    • The dark blob that the shutter brings to her doors does my head in – you seem if the shutter is open, the light is blinding.  So it made sense to order really light, white, floaty drapes that allow the light to come through but just soften things

    • Her cot (*sob*)

    • The feeding chair – although we love reading stories in it after her bath so i might ask my friend Suzie (who i’ve been borrowing it from for all this time) if i can hold onto it for a little while longer

    What’s coming in:

    • Decorland curtains with a pop of colour – here’s a clue to the colour

Yes, that’s Charley Bird’s podgy little hand!

    • New box shelves from Simply Child

    • New framed pix to add to her gallery wall (about time since she’s nearly 20 months!)

    • A rug for playing on the floor

    • A little Eames chair from Chair Crazy

    • Some wall stickers from My Wall Tattoos

    • A big girl bed

I’m pretty happy with the look and the feel of the room already – it just feels like it needs a freshen up. So here are some pix that i collected on my toddler room research travels – i was specifically looking for rooms that had the whole ethereal curtain thing going on as well as rooms with minty hues
