You’ll definitely want to try one or two of these adorbs kids DIY crafts this weekend. On a scale of one to five, there’s nothing in this selection trickier than a three. Have fun!
2. Kawaii Mason Jar Pen Holders
Love these characterful pots by the Ooly blog. They really are a doddle to make and can be used for all sorts of storage. Also great as a gift idea filled with bright pencils or markers.
3. Pineapple Night Lights
I love a good pineapple motif and I’m obsessed with these nightlights. Pop in a battery-operated tea light or rice/fairy lights and dream of a tropical paradise. Tutorial on A Beautiful Mess.
4. Quirky Animal Figurine Plates
We’ve all seen those cute ideas for spray painting thrift shop animal figurines and sticking them on top of mason jars, but this is such a fresh and mad take on the idea and I love it! There’s a tutorial on the Möma Blog where she makes similar designs. I would just spray paint the animals first to funk it up. The instructions are not in English but it’s pretty clear from the pictures what you need and what to do.
5. Cute Succulent Planters
It’s not a new thing, but I still love the idea of decorating simple planters with a lick of paint and permanent markers to give them little personalities, then planting up with a ‘hairdo’ of herbs, flowers or succulents. This one really is super simple and makes for a cheap and cheerful gift. These were spotted on Pinterest but there’s a tutorial on Fun 365 on how to make them.
6. Pom-Pom Wreath
How can you not love pom-poms? So easy to make (see Wool & The Gang for a tutorial), I love this one that has been customised using faux flowers and a flocked Bambi. You could also weave through a string of delicate battery-operated rice lights. Purdy!
