• It’s a giveaway bonanza week, lovelies!

You all know how i’ve been harping on about gardening indoors for the past i don’t know, 3 years?! Well i’m happy to say that our home now has loads more greenery than ever before and i’m loving it. Admittedly i’ve killed more orchids than is polite and i’ve had a few run ins with some other plants (sorry, pretty pelargonium!) but for the most part we’re doing well. Aside from not over or under watering which i’m still trying to get the hang of, i’ve found that finding a specific plant a happy spot to call home in your home seems to play a huge part in keeping things alive! Which is why i LOVE airplants. They don’t mid being moved around, they are hardy little fellas, they need diffused light, will even cope with fluorescent light and need a little water a couple of times a week – i literally fill a dinner plate with water and leave mine to drink for an hour and then pop them somewhere new. They’re great if you like to play around with your decor and move things around.

I’ve posted some of my Air Plant fun and games below…as a source of inspiration for those of you who would like to get involved in the Instagram-based giveaway of a R1000 voucher to spend at a Stodels Nursery.

All you have to do to enter is post your Air Plant styling endeavours on your Instagram feed and use the hashtag  #stodelsairplants, remembering to tag both me (@vicki_Iwantthat) and @stodelsnursery in your caption. I’ve posted this info on my Instagram too

Air Plants are so versatile – even when they’re just resting in a dish like this one, they look fabulous!

Just for fun, I popped my Air Plants in amongst this fake plant from Mr P – i like it!

I had an airplane for years hanging in a tree in my garden, my gardener removed it and threw it away as he was sure it was ‘dead’. I miss my plant and would love to replace it – this time I’d keep it close at hand! Hope I am lucky!

There is something deeply satisfying in looking at an airplant. To think what it lives on it makes me realize that our God is a Great God indeed
