• Ah, here’s to more fabric fabulousness from Skinny La Minx. Heather has done it yet again with a brand new collection called Brise Soleil – inspired by her obsession (all over her Insta feed here) with Brise Soleil blocks which you’ll find in cities around the world – especially in hot climates. I’ve always thought they were ‘breeze blocks’, used to let the breeze in but keep the sun out and they are but the name actually means ‘sun blockers’. They’re a clever, sustainable solution to reducing heat gain in buildings and have been used for years by starchitects like Le Corbusier and Jean Nouvel. There are loads of examples around the city and its been fun seeing Heather’s discoveries around Cape Town.

Clever Heather’s new collection is so beaut – i love the geo lines, the colour palette and how complementary each pattern is.

The 3 patterns: Aperture, Weft and Breeze – i absolutely love Weft, love, love, love it!!

I’m sure you, like me, could think of a bajillion things to upholster in any of those fabrics! I’d really recommend a look at the new Brise Soleil lookbook – it’s full of fantastic ideas on how to use the patterns and colourways, so inspiring!

Oh my gosh – I have lots of ideas – first would be to update all the cushion covers in my lounge and recover my piano stool – we have inherited our family piano from my folks during their house move last month 🙂
